No Mow May
No Mow May
No Mow May
No Mow May
But May is still a month away!
And my neighbours cut their lawns today
No Mow May
No Mow May
Now my weeds are on display
(I like to call it a brocade)
No Mow May
No Mow May
The usual suspects dandelion and english daisy
Going a little crazy (I leave them for the bees)
No Mow April needs a jingle
No Mow May
Prompt: write a poem that emulates jumping rope and skipping rhymes
I love the rewilding. Let the weeds be! Lovely chant. No Mow May! 👏🏽
ReplyDeleteThank you Selma!
DeleteThis should be the anthem for No Mow May. It is a beautiful poem.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the read Gloria appreciate your enthusiasm for No Mow May!
Delete'No Mow May' should be a thing. I told the gardener not to mow the lawn, a fortnight ago, when he made it look like a shaved head.
ReplyDeleteI find dandelions and daisies pretty, although, I've heard they can be a menace. Lovely poem.
Yes, I think it is a thing, and it works for me because I’m lazy.
DeleteLove this. No Mow May has such a ring to it. And that 'brocade' analogy-- that's sublime.
ReplyDeleteThanks Arti, yes the brocade idea came from a gardening friend years ago and it’s stuck with me.
