Channeling the Weather

Channeling the Weather

I check the weather

The weather today

I check the weather

again

When the wind stops

the silence is loud

The cloud in the full moon!

Every cloud’s got a silver lining

A gentle rain falls

Crows bath in puddles

water colour washed and the grass is higher

Cat stretches out on the floor by the fire

There’s green stuff growing on my car

Time to wash it

Puddles

Sun!

Mood suddenly lifts

Another El Niño year?

I won’t go anywhere until the

weather’s fair

I’m a fair weather friend

Here on the coast

The weather changes so fast it’s a joke

Blink and you miss it

El Niño La Niña which is it?

It’s raining cats and dogs

I am right as rain

I will take a rain check

I’ve got my head in the clouds

Red sky at night sailors delight

Red sky at morning sailors take warning

They all tie together you can’t buck the weather

Barbecued salmon and gala keg wine

At home hanging laundry on the verandah

It’s in an atmospheric river

A Pineapple Express

Like living life under water

Calm weather today flat calm in the bay

Tide is high and the sun is shining

Blue sky and the barometer’s rising

It’s always surprising

Oh! What a beautiful morning

Oh! What a beautiful day

I’ve got a beautiful feeling

Everything’s going my way…

Last stanza  Oh, What a Beautiful Mornin'" is the opening song from the musical Oklahoma!, which premiered on Broadway in 1943.

Prompt: write a short poem that involves a weather phenomenon and some aspect of the season. Try using rhyme and keeping line lengths fairly even.
